Gem State Comic Con 2022

Located at Expo Idaho in Garden City, Idaho for its third year of Pop Culture fun. The third year brought back some familiar faces in the world of arts and entertainment and always new faces. Attendees came from all western states to enjoy the best entertainment in the pop culture world, and at a price the whole family can afford. Attendees from Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, California, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Tennessee, Texas, and other states came to Gem State Comic Con for an experience of a lifetime. We thank all attendees because the convention belongs to them. Because of the community support, and support from all fandoms, Gem State Comic Con will expand to two days in 2023.

THE HEADLINERS:
Two great headliners graced Gem State Comic Con in 2022. One is a historic Marvel Superhero that was brought to life by legendary actor and humanitarian Reb Brown. The original Captain America brought smiles to all attendees. Reb Brown's other credits besides "Captain America" (1978) is classic films such as "Uncommon Valor" (1983), and cult classics like "Space Mutiny" (1988), "Yor" (1983). Gem State Comic Con second headliner for Anime was no other than Jackie Lastra who has been prolific in the anime voice acting world. Her work in such anime series as  "Hunter X Hunter" (2014), "Gundam Build Divers" (2018), "Sirius the Jaeger" (2018), "The Promised Neverland" (2019), "Beyblade Burst" (2018-2019), "One Punch Man" (2019), "Pokemon Masters" (2019), "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" (2019), "The Misfit of Demon King Academy" (2020), and "State of Desolation" (2021), has been pivotal in the anime genre. Attendees enjoyed meeting these two great outstanding headliners in 2022, and as all headliners, they will only appear once in Idaho. We always say at GSCC that if you want to see an actor, do it now because they won't be back. 2022 was an exceptional experience of autographs, pictures, laughter, and fun.

EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL GUEST:
Micheal Svabek, the producer at iiRcade Inc brought with him . The hottest video game console and joined Gem State Comic Con with the introduction of their ‘Gold” Editions. It was the first time in history that arcade gamers in Idaho could finally play the long-awaited arcade console cabinets. Micheal introduced this new arcade cabinet to gamers who fell in love with iiRcade and the game console that has transcended gaming to a whole new level in 2022.

SPECIAL GUESTS:
Gem State Comic Con Special Guests never disappoint and in 2022 brought exclusive guests. Kyle Pacek who played a Jawa in the "Mandalorian" was given a special Honorary Membership into the 501st. The ceremony was an unforgettable event and one Kyle is proud to be a part of. The people of Idaho and the 501st treated Kyle like Star Wars royalty.

Gem State Comic Cons' good friend and brother Cesar Garcia appeared for the second time in a row to Gem State Comic Con. He loved the fans in Idaho so much that he couldn't wait to appear once again and join Gem State Comic Con.

ARTIST SPECIAL GUESTS:
Gem State Comic Con Artists brought a diverse cornucopia of talent from Christie Shinn (Demon Bitch), Floyd Sumner (Garbage Pail Kids), Luis Rivera (Team Colossus), Tobe Daranouvong (Villain Comics), Jorge Pacheco (Laurel and Hardy Comics), Mat Heagerty (ONI Press), Peter Sccosh (Team Colossus), and local talent Blake Coker (Team Colossus Origins #1). All artists gave free autographs to all attendees.

COSPLAY SPECIAL GUESTS:
Gem State Comic Con brings Cosplay to the forefront of the convention community and 2022 was no different. Our beloved hostess Gem Star took control of the reins of the convention, and for the first time ever in Colossus Girl Entertainment history was joined by her Team Colossus mates Colossus Girl and Meadowlark. The girls were joined by Len Anderson and his Iron Man vehicle, and Doug Campfield (Captain America Car). Fabian Romero our Gem State Comic Con Summer Cosplay Gathering first place winner also joined Gem State Comic Con as a special guest.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Gem State Comic Con brings only the best in entertainment. 2022 was explosive with fun as we saw Gem State Comic Con veterans "Akashic Moves Bellydance" take to the stage with their mesmerizing presence. Joining the fun was two improv performances titled "How We Roll, and CSI: Crime Scene Insanity," performed by Watson's. Local favorites Treasure Valley Studios entertained the attendees including other performers as Boise Amtgard who performed outside with their expert larping techniques, and Ossus Temple giving young Padawans lessons in lightsaber skills. Idaho Wrestling Club was a huge hit with hourly wrestling performances. Gem State Comic Con member Meadowlark hosted her ever-popular Lip Synch Contest titled "Melodies With Meadowlark" where attendees won prizes for their best performance lip-synching their favorite tunes. Red Zone Fandom Photography was on hand throughout the convention to treat attendees with free photos. The day ended with Idaho's first-ever baby cosplay contest and topped it all off with Cosplay of Champions. Cosplay Contests Sponsored by "AT&T." All celebrity panels were hosted by Distance Nerding Podcast.
